Waiting

Things have changed a little bit, but I'm anxiously awaiting Sean's arrival. He's been offered a position with another company on a better contract. His two years with Raytheon is over and he couldn't pass up this new opportunity. It's still in Baghdad just on a different site. He has to come back to the states to inprocess with the new company, so he's taking 2 weeks vacation first. It's an unexpected gift to get some time together! He won't be able to come home at Christmas now, but this is a good time for him to be back. I need some help getting the house ready for winter and now I won't have to hire a handy man. :) I'm trying to decide what I'm doing for Christmas, but I may go back to Coloraod with Melody, so it's not all bad that he won't be here.

We had a crazy storm last week. There were super high winds and rain. It was quite the experience. I had a leak in the middle of a first floor room. (still trying to figure that out) I had two windows that were missing part of the frames blow in. AND I had a big limb of a tree come down and take out part of our fence. THose were just the major issues. I also had light covers blow off, the flag braket was in the neighbors yard, my patio furniture tried to escape off the front porch and I found a chimney cover and a gutter drain in the yard. Oh, and the power was off for 4 hours. I handled it all, but it made me realize how unprepared for winter storms I really am. I'm glad Sean will be here to help me with that some.

School is going well. I definitely have short timers mindset, but I'm trying to get through it. I have 4 days left and I will be done with my last class!!!!! There have been some hiccups so I'm just hoping everything goes well and this is really it. Hard to imagine a world without school in it, but I'm sure looking forward to experiencing it for awhile. :D

Melody is still doing well in school. Loves her teacher and has lots of friends. I am headed to her school play this afternoon. They are doing "The Littlest Pumpkin". Her teacher sent home a note saying please don't be late because the play is only 12 minutes. I'm looking forward to seeing it and she's so excited about it. She's definitely becoming more self aware though. She is worried about how the play is going to be and last week she told me the play was going to be bad because they couldn't remember their lines. I reassured heer that it'll be great and she was excited this morning when she got on the bus.
