I didn't write last night because I was pretty tired. This morning has started off beautifully. I'm sitting on the porch waiting for the plumber to get here. If all goes according to plan, I will have my laundry up and going this morning!!!!! Thank God, I'm just about out of clothes. Yesterday was rainy and drizzly all day, but this morning the sun is shining and it seems like it's going to be hot.
I tried my hand at the big sander yesterday. Sanded the entire dining room. It was interesting. My respect level for Tiffany has grown even more. That thing is a beast. It's not hard to do but it's defnitely very physical. I did one room and it about wore me out. I'm sore today from it. She has done 3 bigger rooms and the entire hallway!!! I tore up the floor pretty good in some spots for some unknown reason. She assures me that we can fix it with a finer sander. Not sure if she's just telling me that to make me feel better about my first venture into sanding or if it's really fixable. Guess we'll find out soon enough.
I also went shopping yesterday. I got a great deal on mattresses for the guestroomss and then was feeling so proud of m yself I bought a bunch of bedding and other things. Later when reality and common sense returned, I took about 80% of it back. :( As much as I would love to buy all new stuff, I need to pace myself just a little more. I found a couch I really liked at a furniture store here. It was reasonably priced too, but it wouldn't be here til after everyone is gone. It kina defeats the purpose of getting new furniture so people have a place to sit. I skipped that for now too. I'll still get it eventually. My guests will just have to make due with my old red furniture for this trip.
We had dinner at a little Mexcian place in downtown Plattsburgh last night. IT was really good, but took FOREVER. Not the best kid place in the town. Poor Dylan was a trooper though and hung in there. We have a ton of leftovers for dinner tonight.
There are birds nesting under my porch in the roof of the bottom porch. They are quite chatty this morning as I sit here. It's interesting all the crazy noises that come from the animals around here. Dylan has been fascinated trying to figure out what they all are. It'll be fun to learn to recognize some of them with Melody.
Im watching the ferry come across the lake. It looks so tiny when it first starts its trek....by the time it gets here, you know it's anything but tiny. It's fun to watch though!!!! That novelty still hasn't worn off. And in just a few more days Sean and Melody will be on the ferry coming home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
