Today was a fun day. We went up to Montreal. It was my first time out of the country. All went well and we crossed the border without major incident. Tiffany met a client for lunch so Dylan and I were on our own. We headed down to Old Montreal to see some sites and have lunch (little shopping in there too). It was a whole new experience being in a city where the primary language is not one I understand. I felt very strange and out of place, but it was a good experience. It's good to be reminded that the world is actually bigger than our little piece of it.

Once we met back up with Tiff, it was off to the IKEA store. What an experience that is!!!! It was huge. I fell in love with so many things. People have said that the duty you have to pay at the border makes it not worth shopping up there. I was curious so I took a chance and bought a rug, some curtains and a lamp. We got stuck in MASSIVE traffic and ended up taking triple the time to get home that it did to get there. But the good news was, I didn't have to pay ANYTHING at the border to bring my stuff over!!! I was pretty excited about that. I need a few more rugs, but I was nervous about the exchange rate and the border stuff. Tiffany turned me on to this great website. www.flor.com They have some great creative rugs. I may go that route for some of them. We'll see.

Off to bed for another busy day tomorrow!
