Busy busy week

Well, I thought that things would settle down once Sean left and Melody and I were able to get into a routine. So far...that has not been the case. I feel like I'm running nonstop all the time and haven't had time to get into a routine.
I guess I've accomplished a fair amount this week even though it may not seem like it. I painted the trim in one of the front room with primer, but will have to repaint it with actual paint. I bought the paint yesterday so maybe I'll tackle that this weekend. Also, our furniture came on Wednesday. It's really pretty. I love the way it looks, but of course I'm terrified to let anyone in those rooms. I guess I'll just have to learn to train everyone to be careful in there. We did buy a warranty on the funiture so I shouldn't be toooo worried.
I also have been working on another project. We had a plaster repair/restore guy in before Sean left. We agreed that we would try the worst room upstairs (the main guest bathroom) and see how we liked the plaster repair vs just starting over with sheetrock. From what I'm hearing, it would be about the same price either way, so I'm interested to see which one is better. We decided that I would do a lot of the prep work to try to keep the cost down. So I've been pulling wallpaper and loose pieces of plaster to get ready to call him back in. All was going well until last night when I discovered one wall is not plaster, but drywall. And they painted it and THEN put wallpaper on. Which I have found out makes it crazy hard to get the wallpaper off. I'm finding that I'm tearing into the drywall scrapping to get it off. So, I gave up on that wall. Of course it's a wall that seperates the hall and the bathroom, so it's on both sides. I'm going to call the guy today and have him come look at it and hopefully we can come up with another solution.
We ran a bunch of errands again yesterday and went to the Keeseville Free Library. We officially have our library cards for it. It's very small, but cute. The whole basement is the kids room with tables and books and a doll house. Melody found 5 books, 3 she can read by herself and 2 for us to read together. We got an American Girls book....I used to love reading about Samantha, so Melody picked that one. We read chapter one last night and are excited to continue reading through that one. The other one we got to read together is a Boxcar Children book. I haven't read those in forever. I'm not sure if we'll get through both of them, but that's the beauty of the library...we can always get it again another time if we don't read it this time. We also found out they have a kids summer reading program on Monday's. I'm going to try to take Melody next week. Since it's in Keeseville, it may be a time to meet kids who she will be going to school with.
Speaking of getting Melody involved in things, I don't think I've posted about her summer camp. August 9-20 she will be going to YMCA Jr Camp. It's a day camp from 9-4 in Plattsburgh. There are all kinds of activities and she has to take a swimsuit and lunch everyday. She's never done anything like that before, so she's very excited. I'm glad to be getting her involved in things here. It will be very good for her and it will give me a chance to work uninterupted for a few days.
The other highlight of the week is that I've organized my final schooling. I'll be taking a test (HARD TEST) to get credit for 6 credits so I don't have to take classes. I've taken a lot of courses, but still need 6 elective credits. I'd rather not pay for 2 more classes if I don't have to. But trying to find tests that aren't repeats of classes I've already taken is a little tricky. The final result is if i take a natural science test, it will satisfy all 6 credits. BUT, science is definitely not my strong point. I need to study up for it. The motivation is that if I can get these credits taken care of through a test, I will be done with my bachelors degree by the end of October!!!!!! It's taken me almost 10 years, but I'll be so glad to be done. We'll see how it all plays out. Worst case is I have to take 2 extra classes which would still put me done in January. I like the idea of October much better.
Ok, I guess I've stalled enough for the morning. Time to get busy....
